Newspapers and other media contributed to create ‘panic’ among the earth population on the swine flu and this has been especially visible in London (as usual).
It is a fact that this flu is expected to spread dramatically especially next winter.
I‘d like to really help people stop feeling so scared about it because I believe that stress can worsen the state of people’s natural defences to great lengths and also panic and stress won’t be of any help to those that are feeling the symptoms already.
Many types of flu can cause complications and can potentially damage or cause death if no assistance is received especially in elders and children whose systems are weaker and more sensitive.
Swine flu is just one of those and detailed information on symptoms and assistance are available from all health services and local authorities.
A very professional Italian doctor I know said that doing the following will help with avoiding taking and spreading the flu:
• Carry with you an antibacterial hand gel or wet tissues in case you have to get on the public transports and touch the handles.
• Carry with you tissues to put on your mouth if you cough or sneeze.
• Once home remove your clothes and put them in the laundry bag or wash them, wash your hands and wear clothes you don’t sit on benches or in the public transports with.
• Wash your hands often as one of the means of transmission of flu and colds is actually the hands.
• Ensure your immune system is boosted:
